A continuous flow around the seat

The Bistro bench offered by Sika-Design is a creation by Franco Albini and Franca Helg dating from the 1950s. Its design is expressed through the curves beneath the seat: they rise gently to form the armrests, giving the piece a distinctive visual continuity.

This two-seater bench has a hand-shaped rattan frame. The seat and backrest, woven in ArtFibre, a synthetic polyethylene fibre, sit within this open structure. The contrast between the woven sections and the lines of the base highlights the precision of the joints.

Shared seating, a light silhouette

The curved armrests frame the seats without visually enclosing the bench. Its bistro look allows it to fit into a living space where two people can share one seat while maintaining an airy arrangement.

Designed for placement indoors or in a sheltered area, it must remain protected from the elements. The rattan craftsmanship and weaving are its main decorative appeal.
