How to choose a bed or bed frame suitable for the bedroom?
The size of the mattress is the starting point, but the actual size depends on the frame, the headboard and the base. To preserve comfort and circulation, compare the exterior dimensions, the bed height and the elements included.
Check the compatible mattress size
Always distinguish the size of the bed from that of the furniture. A 160 × 200 cm mattress frame can be significantly wider and longer. Also check whether the box spring is included, integrated or purchased separately.
Measure the circulation in the room
Maintain the complete footprint on the floor and maintain a reasonable passage on each side. Check the opening of cupboards and drawers, the location of bedside tables as well as the distance from radiators and sockets.
Choose the height and style of structure
A low frame visually lightens the bedroom, while a higher bed often makes it easier to get up. Wood, metal and upholstered structures do not offer the same touch or the same maintenance. Check the height of the headboard in relation to windows and sockets.
Examine support and stability
