Rocking chair Nanny

Designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1969, the Nanny rocking chair was first put into production by Sika-Design in February 2013, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. This distinctive history separates the model's conception from its production, which took place several decades later.

Rattan as a design line

Nanny is handcrafted from natural Indonesian rattan. The fine bindings of the seat and back are made by skilled wicker artisans. Their regular rhythm reveals the chair's construction and highlights the meeting of curved elements and bound sections.

Its open silhouette rests on curved runners that make its rocking-chair function immediately apparent. The material and design create a natural presence, with details that can be appreciated from both the front and the side.

A place to rock and relax

The rocking motion accompanies moments of rest in a living room, reading nook or holiday home. Nanny can be placed near other seating while retaining the space needed for its movement. Its character comes as much from this use as from the visible rattan craftsmanship.
