€205.00
The Mukinka Salampasu mask is distinguished by its domed forehead crowned with circled cane, topped with wicker balls forming a dense headdress. His face has a flared nose, pointed teeth, and a net of copper bands, evoking the war ceremony. Used at funerals and initiations, some masks were feared to the point of terrifying women and children. Measuring 21x37x21.5 cm, this unique piece is made of wood and raffia, dated from the middle of the 20th century, originally from Zaire in the Salampasu tribe.
