Fetish fine glass mirror from the Bakongo tribe, Democratic Republic of Congo. The statue has an aged patina and a glass bilongo, formerly used for the eyes. Bakongo fetishes, unique and protective, were used to repel malicious spirits, cure diseases, and resolve conflicts. Measuring 7X7X19 cm, this 20th-century piece of wood and glass embodies the spiritual heritage of the Bakongo tribe.
