Originating from Mali, the N'duleri AAA866 sculpture dates from the mid-20th century and depicts a kneeling female figure. This wooden piece presented by Versmissen measures 20 x 18 x 82,5 cm. It is related to Dogon sculptures traditionally placed on altars inside homes.

These figures received sacrificial offerings and had a sacred ritual function. They played a role both in girls' education and during funeral ceremonies.
