Ancestral King Sculpture

The King Ancestral sculpture features an elegant feminine representation in wood, with a varied patina and artistic scarifications all over the body, as well as a distinctive headdress. The stylistic similarities with the sculpture of the neighboring Kuba people are clearly noticeable. This unique piece, dating from the middle of the 20th century and measuring 24x24x53 cm, is a remarkable work from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
