Blolo Bian sculpture

The Blolo Bian is a 11.5x15x49 cm wooden sculpture that represents the male spiritual spouse of the Baules. He is sculpted into the shape of an ideal man, with a long beard, almond-shaped eyes, and a caring smile. The Blolo Bian is a beautiful and significant object that dates from the middle of the 20th century. It is a testimony to the art and culture of the Baule people from Côte d'Ivoire.
