The Versmissen Attye figure sculpture depicts a female figure connected to the culture of peoples living along the lagoon in Côte d’Ivoire. Dating from the mid-20th century, it is made from natural wood. Its silhouette is particularly distinguished by scarification marks on the neck and abdomen.

These marks are often created by inserting small wooden plugs rather than carving them in relief. Attye female figures were used in rituals intended to promote fertility. This sculpture measures 26 x 25 x 80 cm, combining a vertical presence with distinctive bodily details.
