Byeri storage box

This storage box is composed of a bark lower part and a carved wooden male figurine. It was used to store the relics of ancestors and to pay tribute to them. The guardian figures of the Byeri relics are iconic objects of African art. This decorative object dated from the middle of the 20th century has a dimension of 36x35x112 cm. This wooden storage box is a unique work of art from the Fang tribe of Gabon.
